As the college basketball season approaches, Bleacher Report continues to come out with a variety of college basketball rankings. Last week it was their “Freshman to Watch” list, this week its their “Best Past First PG’s”. Xavier’s Trevon Blueitt made their Freshman to watch list, while Dee Davis has made their best passing PG’s in college basketball list. These rankings were based primarily on passing productivity, efficiency and leadership of a winning team.
Out of the 22 players Bleacher Report choose, Dee Davis made the cut based on his 4.7 assists per game, 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio, and the senior leadership role he will play on this years contending team. His ability to get into the paint and then dish it off is what makes Dee so special. His pass first mentality isn’t a common attribute found in many point guards in today’s age of basketball. This goes without mentioning his underrated defensive play he brings night after night. Dee will continue to dish it off this year, even without Xavier’s leading scorer, Semaj Christon, who left for the NBA.
